Compared with the sets for the D-5 and D-10 blocks, this one differs in its cockpit, which matches aircraft from block D-15 onwards; the propeller and gun bays are the same in all three ESSENTIAL sets. The finely printed parts stand out particularly under the clear bubble canopy. D-version Mustangs flew over Europe from 1944 and in 1945 escorted B-29 bombers over Japan from Iwo Jima.
The base plastic kit is not included.
