The ASK half-round lead wire has a 0.8 × 0.55 mm profile and comes in 140 mm lengths, around 16 pieces per pack. Its flat underside and rounded top make it a good material for details that sit flush against a surface – hydraulic and fuel lines, cable looms, strips and stiffeners.
Lead is soft and malleable, so the wire holds whatever shape it is bent into without springing back. It is useful for detailing engine bays, wheel wells and the internal structure of wings and fuselages. ASK also offers half-round wire in further profiles from 0.6 × 0.4 mm to 1.2 mm.
