AK Interactive AK10045 Basic Colors Shading & Effects Set - Weathering Pencils (5 pcs) This set of five 17 cm long AK Weathering Pencils is designed for mixing base colors, shading, adding color accents, and creating metallic scuff marks. It is suitable for plastic models, figures, dioramas, terrain, and wargaming miniatures. The semi-greasy, water-based acrylic lead is easy to control and allows you to combine precise dry strokes with water-blending.

Best results are achieved on a matte surface. Individual shades can be layered, blended together with a damp brush, and retouched after drying.

Recommended Procedure

1. Draw scratches, shadows, patterns, or drips onto a dry, matte surface.
2. Leave sharp marks dry; shape soft transitions and drips with a brush lightly moistened with water.
3. Combine shades in several thin layers. Dried effects can be re-moistened and corrected.
4. Once completely dry, the result can be sealed with modeler’s varnish.
