AK True Metal Colors Brass (1 units)

AK Interactive True Metal AK460 Brass (20 ml) is a wax-based metallic model paint in a brass shade. High-quality pigments allow you to create a realistic metallic surface, whose shine and contrast can be enhanced by polishing after drying.

This shade is particularly suitable for brass cartridge cases, fittings, instruments, ship’s fittings, ornaments, and figure parts. True Metal can be used on plastic models, figures, dioramas, sci-fi, and wargaming miniatures.

The manufacturer recommends applying a primer to the surface first. The paint can be applied with a brush, finger, cotton swab, or soft cloth. For airbrushing, thin it with White Spirit to the desired consistency. Once completely dry, the surface can be protected with acrylic varnish.

Recommended Procedure

  1. Smooth the surface, degrease it, and apply a suitable primer.
  2. Apply a small amount of paint and spread it into a thin, even layer. A thick layer takes significantly longer to dry.
  3. To highlight edges or relief, gently rub the nearly dry pigment in with your finger or a cotton swab.
  4. Once dry, carefully polish the surface with a clean, soft cloth or cotton swab.
  5. Allow the wax paint to dry completely before applying any further patina or varnish; the manufacturer recommends approximately 48 hours.

Use AK White Spirit for airbrushing and cleaning tools. Add thinner gradually and test the resulting mixture on a test piece first.
