AK Interactive AK082 Engine Grime (35 ml)

AK Interactive AK082 Engine Grime (35 ml) Creates a matte dark gray grime typical of long-used engines, where dust mixes with grease. Suitable for accumulated grime and greasy dust on long-used engines and machine parts. It can be applied with a brush or airbrush and adjusted locally with White Spirit.

Unlike a wash, this effect is not applied uniformly to all crevices. It is used to specifically depict grime, moisture, or operational deposits, and its shape is created by subsequent blending.

Recommended Procedure

1. Shake the bottle thoroughly to ensure the pigment is evenly mixed.
2. Work on a fully cured painted or varnished surface. If you’re unsure about a combination of paints and varnishes, test it first on a hidden area.
3. Using a brush, apply the product irregularly to corners, around joints, and in areas where dirt actually accumulates on the engine. For a diffuse layer, it can also be applied with an airbrush.
4. Soften the edges and any excessively thick layers with a brush dampened with White Spirit. Reveal any parts that are meant to remain clean or have a metallic sheen.
5. Build up the effect in several uneven layers; add individual oil stains and fuel leaks afterward using a suitable product.
6. Allow the layer to dry thoroughly before applying another coat of paint or additional enamel effects.

Use AK Interactive White Spirit 35 ml for blending and removing excess. For finer work and less odor, AK Interactive Odorless Thinner 35 ml is recommended.
