AK Interactive AK4063 Brown Earth Deposit (35 ml) Creates a brown, earthy deposit and is designed to depict accumulated brown soil and dirt on wheels, track links, vehicle undersides, bases, and dioramas. The higher concentration and texture are intended for accumulated deposits, not merely for shading details. This shade can be combined with lighter products from the Deposits line to create natural variations in both color and volume of the soil.
Recommended Procedure
- Shake the bottle thoroughly. Work on a dry, clean, and fully cured painted or varnished surface.
- Using a small brush with stiffer bristles, apply the product directly from the bottle only to areas where dirt naturally accumulates. Use a dabbing motion to create an irregular texture.
- For a finer dust effect, dilute the product on a palette and blend it out into the surrounding area. For thicker applications, leave it undiluted around wheels, track links, the undercarriage, terrain edges, and details.
- Combine several earthy shades and vary their density. A uniform layer over the entire model would look unnatural.
- Clean up the edges and excess with a clean brush lightly dampened with White Spirit or Odorless Thinner. Leave part of the texture sharp and part blending smoothly into the surrounding area.
- Build up the effect in several localized layers. Add another shade or layer only after the previous one has dried.
- Allow the layer to dry thoroughly before applying a topcoat or another enamel effect.
Use AK Interactive White Spirit 35 ml for thinning, softening edges, and removing excess paint. AK Interactive Odorless Thinner 35 ml is suitable for finer work and reduced odor.
