AK Interactive AK8004 Water Gel Pacific Blue (250 ml) creates rich blue water with a Pacific Ocean hue. The gel is designed for shallow and rugged water in dioramas, vignettes, and on bases; after application, the surface can be shaped to create a gentle ripple effect.
Recommended Procedure
- First, prepare the base with color; painting beneath the gel creates optical depth and affects the final shade of the water.
- Apply the gel with a putty knife or an old brush in a layer 0.1–3 mm thick. For better flow, it can be carefully thinned with water or acrylic thinner.
- Adjust the surface while it is still workable. Build up a stronger effect only after the previous layer has dried.
- Let it dry for approximately 24 hours; the actual drying time depends on the thickness, temperature, and humidity.
This shade is also suitable for ship dioramas in 1:700 and 1:350 scales. Do not create the final depth with a single thick coat, but rather by using a base color and applying successive layers.
