AK Interactive AK8020 Terrains Desert Sand (250 ml) creates fine, smooth sand for desert scenes and dunes. This colored acrylic paste combines color and texture in a single step and is designed for dioramas, vignettes, figure bases, and wargaming terrain.
Recommended Procedure
- The surface must be solid, clean, and free of dust. Smooth or non-absorbent surfaces should be roughened or primed beforehand.
- Stir the paste thoroughly before use to ensure the binder and filler are evenly mixed.
- Apply with a putty knife or an old brush. A thin layer will even out the surface, while a thicker layer will create its own texture.
- While the paste is still wet, adjust the texture with a damp tool. The consistency can be increased with a small amount of water or acrylic thinner.
- Build up the volume gradually, adding the next layer only after the previous one has dried.
While wet, the paste can be shaped into dunes, and once completely dry, it can be sanded.
