AK737 Drying Retarder (60 ml) slows the drying of acrylic paints. Prevents paint from drying on the tip of the airbrush and extends working time when glazing, blending, and painting with a brush.
AK737 Drying Retarder (60 ml) is a liquid retarder for controlled extension of the drying time of acrylic paints. Adding a few drops to the mixture helps prevent rapid drying at the tip of the airbrush, especially at higher temperatures or when spraying lightly.
When working with a brush, it extends the working time for glazing, wet-on-wet blending, and smooth transitions. Excessive amounts can significantly prolong curing and reduce the coating’s durability, so start with one or two drops.
Recommended Procedure
- Prepare normally thinned acrylic paint.
- Add a small amount of retarder and mix thoroughly.
- Test the mixture and add more retarder only as needed.
- Allow each coat ample time to dry.
The retarder is not a substitute for thinner; use AK712 Acrylic Thinner to adjust viscosity.
