Alvis FV622 Stalwart Mk.2 was a specialised amphibious truck developed in the UK in the 1960s to transport supplies, ammunition and equipment directly to frontline troops, both over land and over water obstacles. With its six-wheel drive, high ground clearance and water propulsion, the Stalwart could carry up to 5 tons of cargo in extremely difficult conditions.
The Mk.2 version included upgraded propulsion systems, hydraulics and cab equipment, increasing reliability and operator comfort. Stalwarts were deployed within the British Army, mainly during the Cold War in Europe, but also in training and logistics operations abroad. Although the machines were valued for their durability and off-road capabilities, their high maintenance and high fuel consumption led to their phasing out in the 1980s.
