The Willys Jeep, officially designated as the 1/2-ton, 4x4 Truck, is undoubtedly the most famous American vehicle of World War II. Originally designed as a command and reconnaissance vehicle, it ultimately became the most versatile vehicle of all. It could be armed with machine guns and was even capable of towing small cannons. This Jeep simply became absolutely indispensable to the Allied war effort.
