The M1A1 Abrams is an American main battle tank with a 120 mm gun and a gas turbine engine. The M1A1 served with both the US Army and the Marine Corps, seeing action among others in the Gulf War and in Iraq.
According to the box, the Academy kit reproduces the M256A1 120 mm gun and the 12.7 mm M2HB machine gun, and semi-connected tracks are included. The finished model measures 140 × 41 mm (length × height). The box art shows the tank in sand colour in an urban setting.
The 1/72 scale makes it easy to display the tank together with other Marine Corps vehicles, even on a small diorama. Paints and glues required for assembly are not included.
