1/48 TBD-1 Devastator double-sided fit express mask for Great Wall Hobby
ASK masks in a double-sided self-adhesive Fit Express version, made for the Great Wall Hobby TBD-1 Devastator in 1/48 scale. Two sheets cover the long crew canopy inside and out, and circular masks are added.
ASK takes the mask shapes straight from the clear parts of the Great Wall Hobby kit in 1/48 scale; the set is ASK's own design. Set ASK 200-M48166 from the SCALE MASK range comes on two sheets. The first carries masks 1–71 for the long, framed canopy – rectangular and trapezoidal panel masks and shaped windscreen masks – plus the ring-shaped masks 67. The second sheet, marked B, holds masks numbered from 72 upwards, so the set covers both the outer and inner sides of the glazing. The one-sided version is 200-M48165.
The Douglas TBD Devastator torpedo bomber was among the first all-metal monoplanes aboard US Navy carriers. By 1942 it had been overtaken by events, and its squadrons suffered heavy losses at the Battle of Midway. The masks are intended for the Great Wall Hobby kit in 1/48 scale.
