This 1/48 ASK decal sheet covers South African Air Force Hurricanes in desert camouflage. It offers three options:
- Hurricane Mk.IIb, BE588, AX-H, No. 1 Squadron SAAF, North Africa, 1942
- Hurricane Mk.IIb, HL885, AX-Z, No. 1 Squadron SAAF, North Africa, 1942
- Hurricane Mk.IIb, HL734, No. 40 Squadron SAAF (“Gremlin”), Egypt, 1942, flown by Lt. Jack Orpen
South African squadrons fought in North Africa alongside the RAF as part of the Desert Air Force; the twelve-gun Hurricane Mk.IIb was among their equipment in 1942. If necessary, the decal carrier varnish can be removed by washing it off with Zippo lighter fluid.
