1/72 Fokker T.V (early) - Valom
Valom 1/72 Fokker T.V (early) is a plastic kit of the Dutch 'aerial cruiser' in early pre-war markings. Resin engines and photo-etch accompany decals with roundel national markings.
The Fokker T.V was a twin-engined bomber and bomber destroyer of the Dutch air arm with a crew of five and Bristol Pegasus engines. It first flew at Schiphol on 16 October 1937; the first 11 aircraft were delivered in 1938 and the remainder in 1939, for a total of 16. Early aircraft carried roundels in the Dutch national colours, later replaced by orange triangles.
The kit combines plastic parts with resin engines, upper main wheel wells, ammunition boxes and propeller hubs. Photo-etch provides harnesses, the instrument panel, the nose gun mount, cowl flaps and other small items, and an acetate film supplies the instrument faces. Decals offer early camouflage schemes that differ in fuselage number; the box shows aircraft 857.
The colourful pre-war markings give the 1/72 scale model a different character from the later orange-triangle versions. The multimedia kit is aimed at more experienced modellers. Paints and glue are not included.
