Biber Trailer in 1/72 scale by Special Hobby shows a special transport trailer designed to transport German Biber mini-submarines during WWII. The Biber mini-submarines were part of the German effort to deploy compact attack craft to operate in coastal waters and attack Allied ships with torpedoes. A special transport device, the Biber Trailer, was required to move them from production plants to bases and launch sites.
The trailer was designed to allow the mini-submarine to be safely attached when transported behind tractor-trailers such as the Sd.Kfz. 8 or other military trucks. Thanks to this system, the mini-submarines could be quickly moved to suitable launching points, where they were lowered into the water using cranes or slides.
The 1/72nd scale model presents a precise treatment of the chassis, towing gear and fastening mechanisms, thus faithfully matching the historical model. A great choice for modelers interested in German naval logistics and WWII special operations.
Package does not include paint or glue needed for assembly.
