1/48 FM-1 double-sided express fit mask for Eduard
ASK masks for the Eduard FM-1 Wildcat in 1/48 come as a double-sided Express Fit set. They cover the cockpit glazing inside and out and include four ring-shaped masks.
ASK engineered this set itself, tailored to the parts of the 1/48 Eduard FM-1 Wildcat kit. Sheet ASK 200-M48216 from the SCALE MASK range carries glazing masks with lower numbers (including the rectangular pane masks 10–17) and the matching group 22–38 – one set for the outer and one for the inner side of the frames. They are joined by rounded masks 19, small circular masks 18 and 20 and four ring-shaped masks numbered 21. The one-sided version is 200-M48215.
From 1943, Wildcats fitted with bomb racks served mainly aboard escort carriers, where their low landing speed and ability to take off without a catapult paid off. The Eastern Aircraft Division of General Motors built 5,280 FM-series aircraft in total. The set is intended for the Eduard plastic kit in 1/48 scale.
