Hobby Boss 1/48 F/A-18D Hornet is a plastic kit of a two-seat strike fighter. The F/A-18D is the fully combat-capable two-seat version of the Hornet. The US Marine Corps operates it with its all-weather VMFA(AW) squadrons, where the rear crew member handles the weapons and navigation systems.
The kit depicts the tandem cockpit with two seats under a clear canopy, the undercarriage bays and external stores including drop tanks and guided missiles. The large decal sheet provides markings for the US Navy training squadron VFA-106 and the Marine squadrons VMFA(AW)-533 Hawks and VMFA(AW)-225 Vikings, the latter with a striking Viking head on the fins. Paints and glue required for assembly are not included.
