Hobby Boss 1/48 F/A-18 A Hornet is a plastic kit of a carrier-capable strike fighter. The F/A-18A was the first single-seat production version of the Hornet, a multi-role aircraft able to operate from carriers and land bases alike. With the US Navy and Marine Corps it replaced the F-4 Phantom II and the A-7 Corsair II.
According to the box the kit contains 246 plastic parts on ten sprues, and the finished model is 353.5 mm long. External stores are included. The decal sheet covers three US aircraft: NK 400 from the carrier USS Constellation, a test aircraft coded XF with the Playboy motif, and VM 01 of Marine squadron VMFA-451. Paints and glue required for assembly are not included.
