1/35 Mk 1 Sawn Off Daimler (SOD) - Gecko
Gecko Models 35GM0028 Mk I Sawn Off Daimler (SOD) 1/35 is a plastic kit of the British turretless command armoured car. It includes photo-etched parts and a full interior.
The Sawn Off Daimler, or SOD, was created by converting the British Daimler Mk I armoured car, removing its turret and front mudguards. Vehicles modified this way served as regimental command vehicles, among others with the Inns of Court Regiment in north-west Europe during World War II, and often carried a machine gun and sometimes a PIAT anti-tank weapon.
The 1/35 Gecko Models kit combines injection-moulded plastic parts with a small photo-etched fret for fine metal fittings. It offers a detailed exterior and a full interior, plus a Bren gun and stowage including ammunition bins. The open fighting compartment invites careful interior work and suits a diorama setting.
