ASK 1/24 Spandau 08/15 is a 3D-printed set of two LMG 08/15 aircraft machine guns, the standard fixed armament of German WWI fighters. It suits 1/24 scale plastic kits of Great War aircraft.
This 1/24 ASK set contains two Spandau 08/15 machine guns produced by 3D printing. Each gun features a finely perforated cooling jacket, the muzzle attachment and a busy receiver with mechanism and sights – areas that injection-moulded kit parts usually simplify.
The LMG 08/15 was a lightened derivative of the water-cooled MG 08 ground gun: the water jacket gave way to a perforated air-cooling sleeve, and with synchronisation gear it fired through the propeller arc. Its Spandau nickname comes from the government arsenal at Spandau that manufactured it. It was usually mounted in pairs ahead of the pilot, for example on the Fokker D.VII or Albatros D.V.
