1/32 Dornier Do-335 B-2 'Zerstörer'
HK Models 1/32 Dornier Do 335 B-2 Zerstörer is a plastic kit of the German heavy fighter. It has 282 parts, a nose weight and Cartograf-printed decals.
The Dornier Do 335 Pfeil was a heavy fighter with an unusual push-pull layout: one engine drives a tractor propeller in the nose, the other a pusher propeller in the tail. It is among the fastest piston-engined aircraft ever built; the first prototype flew on 26 October 1943 and only a handful reached units before the war ended. The rear propeller made an ejection seat necessary. The B-2 was a single-seat Zerstörer with two additional MK 103 cannon in the wings and provision for two drop tanks; only two prototypes were completed.
According to the box, the HK Models kit contains 282 parts, a nose weight and decals printed by Cartograf. The finished model spans 485 mm and is 433 mm long. The box art shows the B-2 with cannon barrels protruding from the wing leading edges.
In 1/32 scale the unconventional silhouette with its cruciform tail and the wing armament really stand out, making this a subject for collectors of late-war German and experimental aircraft. Paints and glues required for assembly are not included.
