Tamiya 35187 Zimmerit Coating Applicator is a set of four photo-etched combs for creating a Zimmerit surface on 1/35-scale German vehicles using polyester putty.
Different widths for different surfaces
The four applicator sizes allow you to work on the wide sides of the hull as well as in narrow areas around details. The comb is drawn across a fresh layer of putty to create the regular texture of the Zimmerit coating, which was designed to protect German military vehicles against magnetic mines.
Work Procedure
Apply the putty in small sections; first test the pressure and spacing on a test area, and separate the individual sections according to the actual prototype. Clean the applicators immediately after use. You can find additional tools in the model-making tools section.
