The 2CV was first introduced to the public in 1948. With this purist, economical small car—which was also low-maintenance and easy to drive—Citroën offered a durable, mass-produced people’s car that also featured relatively good suspension, suitable for driving on the sparsely developed road network of the time. In 1981, by which time the 2CV had long since become a true cult classic, a two-tone version was introduced—the red-and-black 2CV 6 Charleston—followed in September 1982 by a yellow-and-black version. Both were equipped with a 0.6-liter air-cooled two-cylinder boxer engine producing 29 koní.
