P-51B/C Mustang Malcolm Hood canopy 1/32
The Eduard 1/32 P-51B/C Mustang Malcolm Hood canopy is a plastic kit of the US fighter aircraft from the Brassin Hybrid line. 3D-printed parts, photo-etch, a canopy mask and decals for five aircraft complete it. Paints and glues not included.
The P-51B and P-51C were the first production Mustangs powered by the Merlin engine, built under licence by Packard. The original framed, side-hinged canopy (birdcage) restricted the pilot's view, so many aircraft received the bulged sliding canopy made by the British firm R. Malcolm, known as the Malcolm hood. Mustangs modified this way flew bomber escort and ground attack missions over Europe in 1944–1945.
Kit 932013 belongs to the Eduard Brassin Hybrid line, which combines Eduard injection-moulded plastic parts with 3D-printed parts. Eduard designed it exclusively for aircraft with the Malcolm canopy; the box contains plastic and 3D-printed parts, a small photo-etched fret, a canopy mask and a decal sheet with five marking options. They include “Old Crow” of Clarence E. “Bud” Anderson, “Cripes A' Mighty” of George Preddy, “Ding Hao!” and “Hells Belle”. The version with the original canopy is offered by the sister kit 932012.
The 1/32 scale leaves room for a detailed cockpit and striking nose art; some options carry invasion stripes from the summer of 1944. No pilot figure is included. Paints and glues required for assembly are not included.
