This Italeri Model Set represents the F-16 Fighting Falcon, a General Dynamics jet produced from the late 1970s. First designed as a modern single-seat day fighter for air-superiority missions, it later evolved into an all-weather multirole aircraft operated by many air forces. Distinctive features of the type include the frameless bubble canopy, side-mounted control stick, the fly-by-wire system and modern avionics. The real aircraft carries an internal 20 mm M61 Vulcan cannon and external pylons for missiles and bombs.

Release 72009 combines the plastic kit with basic supplies for building and painting. The box includes decals, liquid cement for plastic, three 7 ml acrylic paints, a brush, precision tweezers, a double-sided sanding stick and sprue cutters.
