Italeri STALINGRAD SIEGE 1942 depicts a battle that became a turning point of the Second World War. From the summer of 1942 into the opening months of 1943, the German Army and the Soviet Red Army fought for control of the Volga and Don regions, with the struggle concentrating in the shattered city and its industrial district.

One of the key German objectives was the Stalingrad tractor factory, converted during the war to T-34 production. Bombing and artillery fire turned the plant and surrounding streets into ground for brutal close-quarters combat. The Soviet encirclement offensive launched on 19 November 1942 eventually trapped the German forces and led to their surrender in early 1943.
