The Mercedes-Benz G-Class (G stands for “Geländewagen,” or off-road vehicle) was developed by the German automaker in the 1970s and created in collaboration between Daimler-Benz and the Austrian company Steyr-Daimler-Puch. The “G” series vehicles immediately made a name for themselves among car enthusiasts thanks to their exceptional durability, reliability, and excellent off-road capability, which they owed primarily to their sturdy construction and four-wheel drive.
