Information about the original and the model:
The Fiat 131 Abarth was based on a two-door sedan from Fiat. The modifications made to it by Abarth included a number of changes and improvements, starting with reducing the body weight by using lighter materials. Additionally, new fenders were added to accommodate larger wheels, along with new air intakes on the hood and sides to optimize engine cooling. It was powered by a longitudinally mounted four-cylinder engine featuring a lightweight alloy cylinder head and four valves per cylinder. The Fiat 131 Abarth was produced starting in 1976 and competed in the World Rally Championship, where it achieved significant results, including three Manufacturers’ Cups, one Drivers’ Championship title, and one FIA Trophy. It competed in international events until 1982, when it was replaced by Lancia models.
