The Land Rover is undoubtedly one of the most famous symbols of British automotive manufacturing and represents a true milestone in the history of off-road vehicles. It was developed immediately after the war, with its first prototypes rolling off the production line in 1947. It was characterized by its four-wheel-drive system and a sturdy, reliable design, which allowed it to handle even the most challenging terrain. The aluminum body ensured low weight while also providing greater resistance to rust and, consequently, a longer service life. By the time the third series was launched in 1971, more than 1 million Land Rovers were already on the road worldwide. The new version was available in two variants: “standard” and “long-wheelbase.” Thanks to its exceptional versatility, the Land Rover was used as both a civilian and a military vehicle. Of particular interest were, for example, versions equipped with firefighting gear designed specifically for fire departments.
