The abbreviation SL (Sport and Leicht) refers to various models that were developed and introduced to the market over the years. In the 1970s, this German automotive group launched the R107 and C107 model series in Roadster and Coupé versions, which quickly achieved significant commercial success. The C107 model evolved into the top-of-the-line model in the series—the SLC 500 Coupé, which remained in production for nearly ten years. With a 4,973 cm³ engine producing 237 koní, the Mercedes SLC 500 became the benchmark of excellence for the “premium” market, which in the 1970s gave rise to several iconic models that still capture the imagination and fuel the dreams of many collectors and classic car enthusiasts today.
