The Lockheed F-104 Starfighter is one of the most famous fighter aircraft in aviation history and also the aircraft with the longest operational service. Its history began in the late 1950s and, for some air forces, lasted until the mid-2000s. Its unique airframe, combined with a slender fuselage and very small wing area, made it an ideal interceptor. Thanks to the thrust of its General Electric J79-GE-11A afterburning jet engine, it was capable of exceeding Mach 2.2 and also excelled in climb performance. This model allows you to recreate the cockpit of the famous “Starfighter” with the typical layout of aircraft from the 1950s and 1960s, which was practically a second home to many former NATO pilots. The fine details of the instrument panel, typical of that era, are perfectly complemented by a highly accurate replica of the Martin-Baker ejection seat.
