Information about the original:
The Hawker Hurricane was the most widespread and widely used fighter aircraft of the British Royal Air Force at the start of World War II. It contributed significantly to the RAF’s ultimate victory during the Battle of Britain, but over the course of the war, it was gradually replaced as a front-line fighter by the much more modern Spitfire. However, the Hurricane’s role gradually evolved thanks to the development of highly specialized variants and armament configurations. The Hurricane Mk. IIC, for example, was equipped with four powerful 20mm Hispano-Suiza cannons mounted in the wings, with a total of nearly 400 rounds. The use of 20 mm cannons instead of traditional 7.7 mm machine guns gave the Hurricane exceptional effectiveness in attack missions targeting ground targets and close-air-support missions. In addition, the Hurricane Mk. IIC was successfully deployed as a night fighter.
