Information about the original:
The S.M.79 Sparviero aircraft was designed and manufactured in the 1930s by the Italian company SIAI-Marchetti, originally as a civilian aircraft, which set significant world speed records during that period. It featured a typical low-wing configuration with three engines and a fuselage made of wood, fabric, and metal. It was subsequently converted into military variants and was extensively used by the Italian Regia Aeronautica during World War II, primarily as a bomber in the Mediterranean and later as an effective torpedo bomber. It was recognizable by the “hump” behind the cockpit, and thanks to its three Alfa Romeo 126 RC34 radial engines, each producing 750 koní, it was capable of reaching a maximum speed of 430 km/h.
