Heinkel He 177 A Wheels 1/72 / for Revell kits
CMK Heinkel He 177 A Wheels 1/72 is a resin supplement containing highly detailed main landing gear wheels and tail skids for the Luftwaffe’s sole four-engined bomber of the Second World War. The wheels are moulded in their characteristic flattened shape, simulating the weight of the aircraft, and offer a significantly higher level of detail than the parts included in the basic kit. The accessory is designed for Revell kits in 1:72 scale.
The Heinkel He 177 “Greif” was the only mass-produced four-engine heavy bomber of the Luftwaffe to see action during the Second World War. Its design was unusual — the four engines were arranged in two tandem pairs, each driving a propeller, giving the aircraft the appearance of a twin-engine aircraft. This design led to repeated problems with engine overheating and fires; nevertheless, the He 177 was deployed on the Eastern Front, over the Atlantic and in attacks on British targets. In terms of its dimensions and weight, it was one of the heaviest aircraft operated by Germany during the war.
CMK offers a resin conversion set for Revell’s 1:72 scale kits, which replaces the plastic landing gear wheels with more detailed resin parts. The set includes the main landing gear wheels and tailwheel, with all wheels moulded in a so-called ‘weighted’ (flattened) design — that is, to faithfully replicate the deformation of the tyres caused by the weight of the actual aircraft when stationary on the ground. This detail contributes significantly to a realistic finish and is one of the most frequently highlighted features in high-quality model builds.
