DB-7 Boston Mk.III Ventral & Dorsal Machine Guns 1/48 / for HK Models kits
CMK DB-7 Boston Mk.III Ventral & Dorsal Machine Guns is a 1:48 scale detail set for HK Models. It contains 3D printed and photo-etched parts that replace the simplified plastic design of the lower and dorsal gunnery stations on the Douglas DB-7 Boston Mk.III. Package does not include the basic kit.
The Douglas DB-7 Boston Mk.III was an American-built light bomber that served primarily with the British RAF and other Allied air forces during World War II. It was developed from the original Douglas DB-7 design, which was designed from the outset as an export type, and entered British service under the designation Boston. The Mk.III variant was one of the most widely used and actively deployed - it was used in North Africa, the Mediterranean and the Far East, including in support of Montgomery's 8th Army at the Battle of El Alamein in 1942. Propulsion was provided by two Wright R-2600 Cyclone radial engines of approximately 1,700 hp each, with the aircraft reaching a top speed of around 550 km/h. Defensive armament included a dorsal gunner's position and, in some configurations, a lower (ventral) position - it is these parts that are the subject of the CMK supplement.
The 1:48 scale CMK kit is designed to be combined with the HK Models kit and focuses on two defensive firing positions: dorsal and ventral. The 3D printed parts deliver sharp edges, accurate barrel shapes and detail that the plastic parts of the base kit do not achieve. The photo-etched parts add subtle elements such as sights, mounts, and structural details that could not be faithfully reproduced in plastic. The result is a significant refinement of the appearance of both habitats and an overall increase in the fidelity of the model. The package does not include the basic kit.
