Contrast: Skeleton Horde is part of Citadel's revolutionary Contrast range of paints, which fundamentally changes the approach to painting miniatures. These paints combine the properties of base coat, shading and highlighting into a single product, allowing even less experienced painters to achieve professional-looking results in significantly less time.
Skeleton Horde is specifically designed for painting bone structures, undead figures, skeletons and other organic surfaces with the natural look of bleached bone. The paint works on the principle of a special formulation that, when applied over a light Contrast undercoat (such as Wraithbone or Grey Seer), flows spontaneously into depressions and creates natural shadows, while remaining lighter on raised areas, creating a realistic effect of volume and depth.
This technique is particularly useful when painting armies with large numbers of models, such as the undead of Warhammer Age of Sigmar (Soulblight Gravelords, Ossiarch Bonereapers) or the Necrons of Warhammer 40,000, where traditional paint layering can be very time consuming. Skeleton Horde can also be used to paint bone details on other models such as skulls, bones on bases, bone decoration or trophies.
The paint is compatible with the full range of Citadel paints and can be combined with other Contrast paints or traditional acrylic paints to achieve a variety of effects. Once dry, the model can be further refined using techniques such as edge highlighting or dry brushing for even more depth and detail.
The pack contains 18 ml of paint. It is recommended to shake the bottle well before use and apply the paint on a properly prepared light base for optimal results.
