CAC Boomerang Upgrade Set 1/72 / for Special Hobby kits
The CMK CAC Boomerang Upgrade Set 1/72 is a set of 3D-printed accessories designed to enhance Special Hobby’s kit of the Australian CAC Boomerang fighter aircraft. The set contains parts for both the exterior and the cockpit and is compatible with both the newly released version of the SH72539 kit and older editions of the same kit. The pack does not contain glue or paint.
The CAC Boomerang was an Australian fighter aircraft developed and manufactured in record time in response to Japanese expansion in the Pacific following the attack on Pearl Harbour in December 1941. Its design was based on available components from the American North American NA-33 trainer, with the Australian Commonwealth Aircraft Corporation (CAC) adapted it as an urgent domestic alternative at a time when the supply of modern fighter aircraft from overseas was extremely uncertain. Although the Boomerang did not match the performance of Japanese opponents such as the Mitsubishi Zero, it nevertheless proved its worth, particularly in the role of direct ground support, reconnaissance and as an escort for slower aircraft. It became a symbol of Australian industrial self-sufficiency and the determination to defend its own territory.
The CMK 1:72 scale accessory set is designed for modellers who wish to take the Special Hobby kit (kit no. SH72539 and older editions) to a higher level of detail. The parts are produced using 3D printing technology, which allows for the reproduction of fine details that are difficult to achieve using conventional plastic injection moulding. The set covers both exterior elements and cockpit fittings, thereby significantly enhancing the finished model both when viewed from the outside and when the cockpit canopy is open or transparent. The set is compatible with the current edition of kit SH72539 as well as with older versions of the same kit, so owners of previously released kits will also appreciate it. The pack does not contain glue or paints.
