Aqueous Surfacer 1000 is a 1000-grit surfacer/primer from Gunze Mr.Hobby. It evens out the surface, improves paint adhesion, and helps reveal minor imperfections before the final coat of paint.

Aqueous Surfacer 1000 serves as a primer before painting a model. The surfacer fills in fine scratches, evens out plastic, resin, or metal parts, and prepares the surface for subsequent layers of paint.
It is suitable for plastic models, figurines, dioramas, and wargaming. A lower number is better for more pronounced irregularities, while a higher number is better for a smoother final finish.
Recommended Use
- Grit: 1000
- Application: As directed on the package, apply in thin layers using a brush, airbrush, or spray
- Thinning for bottled versions: Mr. Color Thinner or Mr. Color Leveling Thinner
- After drying: the surface can be lightly sanded with sanding cloth and then painted
