AK Interactive Xtreme Metal AK671 Metallic Smoke (30 ml)

AK Interactive Xtreme Metal AK671 Metallic Smoke (30 ml) is a smoky metallic shade from the AK Xtreme Metal professional line of metallic paints. Special metallic micropigments create a smooth and even metallic finish without unnecessarily obscuring details.

The paint is ready for direct airbrushing and offers high coverage and adhesion. According to the manufacturer, a primer is not necessary; however, for the cleanest possible metallic finish, the surface must be smooth, degreased, and free of dust. Once cured, the coating is resistant to standard patina treatments and can be clear-coated without losing its gloss.

The translucent smoky metallic tone is suitable for tinting exhaust pipes, nozzles, dark metals, and for adding subtle shading to metallic surfaces. The line is suitable for plastic models, figurines, sci-fi models, and metal details on wargaming miniatures.

Recommended Procedure

1. Shake the bottle thoroughly to ensure the metallic pigments are evenly distributed.
2. Smooth, degrease, and dust the surface. A primer is not required, but the base coat will affect the brightness and depth of the shade.
3. Apply the paint with an airbrush in several thin layers. Allow the surface to air dry briefly between coats.
4. Add additional shades, patina, or clear coat only after the paint has fully cured. Test the entire process on a test piece first.

Use AK470 Xtreme Cleaner & Thinner to adjust viscosity if necessary and to clean the airbrush. Standard water-based acrylic thinner is not suitable for this paint line.
