Creating a believable jungle has always been a challenge for modelers because of the complex shapes of tropical foliage. AK Vegetation - Jungle Plants Set (AK8138) solves this problem by offering a wide variety of plants that feature large leaves, specific veining and exotic shapes. This set simulates the "green hell" with an accuracy that was previously unthinkable with plastic or paper accessories.

Historically, this set is ideal for a wide range of subjects:

• WW2 Pacific: the fighting on Guadalcanal, Iwo Jima or Burma.

• Vietnam War: Scenes with American equipment (M113, riverboats) in the dense undergrowth of the Mekong Delta.

Laser-cut leaves allow layers of vegetation to be depicted, from low broad-leaved plants to lianas climbing trees or machinery.

Set details and application tips

The set includes several sheets with different types of foliage, ensuring a natural species diversity in your model.

• Precision manufacturing: the CO2 laser allows you to cut the leaves so thin and detailed that they look completely natural even at close range.

• Scale and flexibility.

• Shape modelling. For maximum realism, we recommend bending or "distorting" the leaves slightly with tweezers before gluing to give them an organic, irregular shape.

• Fixing: For fixing, we recommend using a small amount of white glue (PVA) or our AK118 Gravel & Sand Fixer to ensure an invisible bond and maintain the matte appearance of the vegetation.

Please note: The package does not contain paint or glue. The plants are supplied in a basic realistic green shade which you can further modify with filters, washes or pigments (e.g. to show dried mud on the lower leaves).
