When creating a diorama, it is crucial to distinguish between types of environments. While the classic meadow requires lush greenery, riverbanks, blind stream banks or marshy terrain require vegetation with a different character. AK Vegetation - Backwater Tufts (AK8122) are designed to do just that. Their color mimics grass that is constantly exposed to high humidity, rotting processes or lack of direct sunlight, giving it a typically rich but darker tone.

The 4 mm height is ideal for representing a finer undergrowth. It is great for details around equipment wrecks in the jungle, along the banks of rice paddies in Vietnam, or for creating the atmosphere of forgotten industrial zones and roadside ditches.

Professional workmanship and application tips

The product features a high fibre density and a matt finish, so that when applied it does not look like an artificial element but blends naturally into the surrounding terrain.

• Simplicity of use: simply remove the clusters from the blister pack and transfer to the model using tweezers. Thanks to the self-adhesive bottom part, they stay in place immediately.

• For models intended for frequent handling (e.g. wargaming figures) or for bonding to uneven surfaces (mud, stones), we recommend adding a drop of white glue or using AK118 Gravel & Sand Fixer.

• These clumps look absolutely fantastic incombination with AK-Interactive's "Still Water" or "Puddles" effects, where you place the clumps directly on the edge or partially in a layer of model water.
