AK Interactive RC705 Super Gloss Finish 1K Varnish (120 ml) is a single-component, high-gloss 1K clear coat for the final protection of your model. It creates a smooth, glossy finish, does not yellow, and the manufacturer states that it is safe for decals. It can be applied over acrylic, lacquer, and solvent-based model paints, but only after they have completely cured.
Recommended Procedure
- Clean the surface and allow all previous layers, including decals, to dry completely. If using an unfamiliar combination, test it first.
- Stir the varnish thoroughly and adjust the consistency for airbrushing using the recommended thinner. Add the thinner gradually.
- Apply evenly in a controlled coat. Avoid flooding panel lines, running, and spraying for too long in one spot.
- Protect the surface from dust while it dries. The manufacturer specifies a drying time of approximately 30–60 minutes at room temperature.
For thinning, the manufacturer recommends RC701 High Compatibility Thinner 200 ml or RC702 High Compatibility Thinner 400 ml.
