AK Interactive AK758 Grey Primer and Microfiller (100 ml) is a high-quality, ultra-fine, self-leveling primer in gray. It creates a uniform surface for subsequent painting, improves the adhesion of subsequent coats, and, thanks to its micro-filling effect, helps smooth out very fine sanding marks and slight irregularities.
The neutral gray base makes it easier to spot seams, scratches, and minor imperfections, and has minimal effect on the color of subsequent layers. The product is suitable for plastic models, figures, dioramas, sci-fi, and wargaming miniatures.
The primer is ready for direct application with an airbrush. If the viscosity needs to be adjusted, the manufacturer recommends AK470 Xtreme Cleaner & Thinner; the same product is also used for cleaning airbrushes and tools.
Recommended Procedure
- Wash or degrease the surface and remove any dust from sanding.
- Stir the primer thoroughly to ensure an even consistency.
- Apply several thin coats with an airbrush instead of one thick coat. Allow each coat to flash off briefly.
- The self-leveling micro-filler will only smooth out very fine imperfections; repair deeper cracks and dents in advance with modeling putty and sand them down.
- Allow the primer to cure thoroughly before sanding or applying additional colors.
Use AK470 Xtreme Cleaner & Thinner for thinning and cleaning. Regular water-based acrylic thinner is not suitable for this primer.
