According to the description of the AK11652 Afrika Korps Colors 1941-43 set, most vehicles initially shipped to Africa were painted overall in RAL 7021 Dunkelgrau. In March 1941 the first colours intended specifically for Africa were selected – RAL 8000 Gelbbraun and RAL 7008 Graugrün, to cover two thirds and one third of the vehicle's surface respectively. In March 1942 they were replaced by RAL 8020 Braun and RAL 7027 Grau.
