As Britain prepared for war in the late 1930s, the military desperately needed not only vast numbers of aircraft, tanks, and artillery, but also thousands of trucks and utility vehicles to support every conceivable type of operation.
The ability to effectively supply modern mechanized armies with vast quantities of fuel, ammunition, food, and other commodities they required was crucial to the success of any military campaign, and as the war intensified, these supply lines began to stretch ever longer. These robust, reliable, and adaptable trucks were thus set to play an absolutely crucial role in the coming conflict.
