Model Information:
In 1625, as Sweden was busily building an empire around the Baltic Sea, King Gustavus Adolphus of Sweden ordered new warships. Among them was the Wasa. On its maiden voyage in 1628, the Wasa set sail and fired a salute. But after just a few minutes of sailing, the ship began to list. It righted itself slightly—and then tilted again, and to the horror and disbelief of all who watched, the magnificent and mighty warship suddenly sank.
