Model Information:
The Hawker Hurricane was a British single-seat fighter aircraft that served in the RAF and the air forces of other Allied nations during World War II. Together with the Spitfires, the Hurricanes formed the backbone of the British fighter force during the Battle of Britain. The aircraft was developed in the mid-1930s and was the Royal Air Force’s first modern monoplane fighter. Gradually, however, it was replaced by the more modern and powerful Spitfire, even though the latter was more complex to manufacture—and also more expensive. Later, the Hurricane saw service as a fighter-bomber; armed with 40mm cannons in North Africa, it destroyed tanks of the German Afrika Korps, and as the Hawker Sea Hurricane, it operated from the decks of British aircraft carriers.
