Information about the original:
The HMS Ark Royal, laid down at the Cammel Laird shipyard in Birkenhead on April 13, 1937, participated in the sinking of the German battleship Bismarck. She was later torpedoed by the German submarine U-81. On November 14, 1941, she sank; only one sailor lost his life.
