Information about the original and the model:
The A-1A, which was the primary production variant of the Messerschmitt Me 262 jet aircraft, was the fighter-bomber version of the aircraft that Hitler so desperately wanted. It could be used as an interceptor or configured to carry bombs and air-to-air rockets on pylons mounted on the nose. It also had powerful cannons mounted on the nose, which the Germans used to devastating effect against mass formations of USAAF bombers attacking Germany; furthermore, the offensive firepower of these fighters could be further enhanced by mounting R4M "Orkan" (Hurricane) rocket launchers under each wing. Thus, it was possible to carry twelve stabilized R4M rockets under each wing, mounted on primitive wooden pylons, each of which was capable of shooting down one enemy bomber.
